Palate

Challenge: How can I empower elderly patients by encouraging them to eat by creating an enjoyable interactive mealtime experience

Overview: The elderly are the most malnourished in hospitals and there is an opportunity to design a mealtime experience to encourage them to eat more. This is through occupational therapy and an interactive design. It allows and makes patients eating experience more enjoyable.

Goal: My aim for this project is about looking into the future of the mealtime experience and how it can influence a patient’s time in the hospital and help them on their healing journey. My design challenges how hospital mealtime will look like in the future.

Interactive App.

This is an interesting interactive app that works alongside the Palate products. It is used as a subtle indicator of how well you are improving as a stroke patient. This app adds to the enjoyment of hospital mealtimes.
